First, ensure that applicable developers from your company have registered in the Equifax® API portal at developer.equifax.com – and are able to sign in. Then follow these high-level steps to get started.
1. Navigate to the DASHBOARD page and create a new application by entering Consumer Credit Report.
2. Locate the Consumer Credit Report API by selecting it on the API PRODUCTS page.
3. Review the API REFERENCE tab for specifications.
4. Run a sample transaction in the Sandbox environment to gain familiarity with the OAUTH 2.0 protocol and requesting a token.
NOTE -While the token changes, the payload remains the same with each request.
5. Promote to the Test environment to edit the request message and run a range of test cases for code validation and error handling.
